Why we do not steam clean
Our beliefs and experience
** Yes steam cleaning is efficient and cleans very good. It takes way less time on a job. These very expensive truck mount machines are a very good way to save time and effort. Unfortunately they do come with some major risks.
** We have seen and heard the horror stories of steam clean and the after effect.
** Most carpets have a heat tolerance of 300 degrees. Most of the expensive truck mounted steam cleaners can be adjusted to up to 300 or more. We found that any heat more than hot tap water can warp and ruin not only the carpet but the padding and flooring underneath it. Most carpet installers and repair professionals agree that around 3 to 4 times a carpet is steam cleaned, is when the carpet becomes warped or ruined.
** When carpet is warped by the extreme heat from steam cleaning, the carpet then has to be re-stretched by a professional carpet installer. That is very $$$ costly. When the padding and flooring underneath is ruined by the amount of heat from the steam cleaners, not only does the carpet need replacing, but also parts of the flooring and all the stuff underneath the carpet. Again, very $$$$ costly.
** Our belief is that carpet cleaning is not something that can be rushed. It takes hard work, time, and making sure we use the right equipment and materials needed for each job. We use the good old fashioned way of cleaning carpets. We vacuum thoroughly, we use the right mixed pre-spray, we use a CRB or scrubber to mix in the pre-spray, we then use an extractor to completely rinse and lift all the dirt and grime from the carpet. Making the carpet look, smell and feel amazing.
